Beijing, December 26. On December 26, the State Grid Corporation of China Nanchang-Changsha 1000 kV UHV AC Project (referred to as Nanchang-Changsha Project) was put into operation. This project is the first special project started in my country during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period. The high-voltage power transmission and transformation project has created a new record of UHV construction in only 10 months from start to completion.
Xin Baoan, chairman and party secretary of State Grid Corporation of China, said that the completion and commissioning of the project will greatly improve the power exchange capacity of the two provinces, significantly improve the safety level of the large power grid, and effectively expand the scale of Gansu power entering Hunan and Sichuan power entering Jiangxi, which will effectively alleviate the Conflict between power supply and demand. This is a practical action by State Grid to implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions and instructions, give full play to the basic guarantee and support of the power grid, and serve the rise of the central region and the revitalization and development of the old revolutionary base.
As an important part of the UHV backbone network in Central China, the Nanchang-Changsha project was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission in December 2020, and the construction will start in March 2021. Significantly improve the power exchange capacity between provinces, and help build a power grid platform in Central China that complements wind, water, fire, and energy. It not only meets the growing demand for power exchange in central China, especially between Hunan and Jiangxi provinces, but also enhances the power transmission capacity of the Jiuquan-Hunan, Yazhong-Jiangxi projects and other DC channels, and promotes the large-scale development of wind power and hydropower in Gansu and Sichuan provinces, as well as coal The combined delivery of electricity has further expanded the scope of clean energy consumption and supported the clean and low-carbon transformation of energy. It is a concrete practice of serving carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals.
